OH-IO

Wednesday night Audrey and I had a special dinner, but Audrey was not the only "center" of attention at the table. We had the chance to eat with Ohio State Buckeye center Jim (or Jimmy) Cordle. He's a friend of the grandparents and I have to say, he couldn't have been nicer to us. Jimmy is the exact opposite of every spoiled athlete you read about. Audrey showed him a cheer or two and he posed for pictures. Audrey says a big thanks to the Cordle family and she told me on the way home that Jimmy is her favorite Buckeye and that she likes him even better than the coach. Hopefully Tress won't read this.

We have a First Grader

Was there ever any doubt? I'm proud to say that Audrey has officially been promoted to first grade. She finished the year with all "s's" on her report card (which stands for satisfactory). She had a wonderful year and we're really exicted for summer and then school next Fall.

Here's some pictures of the last few days of school.

Piano Recital

Here's a clip from Audrey's first Piano Recital held this weekend in Columbus. She was part of a group of kids that played along with their teacher. Although she admitted to me that she was nervous before the show, Audrey was the first one up and did a wonderful job. She played three songs in all, this is the last one titled "The Bell Tower." We are proud of her piano playing and looking forward to more recitals in the future. - special thanks for grandma and grandpa for making the trip to watch!

Cookout Video

Here's the video from the cookout of the girls (Ava, Maggie and Audrey) singing "Breaking Free" from High School Musical. I shot a couple of songs, but the audio isn't that great.. which means the adults were all talking too loud to hear the kids. But, this will give you an idea of the performance.

Memorial Cookout

We had the Kleins, Kramers, and Grimes all over to our house for a cook-out on Sunday. It was a really great time! There was croquet, cornhole, karaoke along with plenty of food and fun. By the end of the night all the kids ended up watching Enchanted and just when we thought the evening was over... the Kleins invited all the girls to spend the night at their house!

Later I'll put up some video of the kids singing karaoke. The video of Don and Dave singing will be destroyed - :)

On Monday Audrey and Maggie went to the pool. It was REALLY cold. Audrey swam but Maggie stayed dry and warm but they each got a sno-cone and that made the day.

Hi Joe

Well here's the video that much of the family has asked for.. "Hi Joe"

For those who don't know, Audrey has been tearing up the family dinner circuit with this little number that she learned at school. She has taken a bit of artistic license changing the words "button factory" to "cannonball tree" in several of the versus... only she knows why.

I'll admit the song is better in person, but you'll get the idea. If you haven't seen Audrey sing it, the last verse is "turn it with your tongue".. that might explain what she's doing if you miss the words.

Star of the Week

Audrey was recently "Star of the Week" at school, an honor given to each Kindergarten student at some point in the year. She was allowed to bring in something each day of the week.

She shared her Webkinz, she played piano, she brought in another stuffed animal and brought in her dad and her grandparents.

When I was in, we shared a video and here's a look at Audrey's friends, family and other things she loves.
